News | Teacher and Student Tie in Academic Awards Prediction Contest

Last month, just before the NFL playoff games were to begin, Star Status held a contest among Nottingham High School staff members asking them to pick the winners of the NFL playoff games. Due to legal and budgetary reasons, the prize for winning the contest would not cash, but a Star Status feature article would be written about you. This is that prize! 

And with the end of the playoffs we had a winner, Ms. Barb Nichols from the Guidance office. Ms. Nichols correctly predicted all seven playoff games, including the Philadelphia Eagles victory over the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. 

There was a tie for second place (Mr. Gerry Lynch and Ms. Karen Costelow) and a tie for third place winners including Ms. Jill DeMaio, Ms. Michelle King, and Ms. Ramona Chell.

After the results were tabulated, Star Status broke the news to Ms. Nichols. When asked to what she owes her phenomenal success in predicting the winners, Ms. Nichols responded, “There was no money involved in this one, of course!” Obviously Ms. Nichols must have some great luck when it comes to prediction and it hasn’t gone unnoticed, even by her. She went on to add, “ For the record, I am available to share my expertise in future consultations sessions--for a small fee.”
