Olivia Gresavage: Baby-sitting for two years.
Charles McGuire: Ritas for three years.
Nicole Filipowicz: Wegmans, since January.
Star Status: How many days a week do you work and how many hours?
Cameron Colabella: It differs every week depending on what I have going on, but each week is a minimum of 10, last week I worked 15 and the one before I worked 30.
Tyler Kane: Depends on the day, but the majority of it is after school from 3- 9 p.m., four to five days a week, and Saturdays 6 am - 2 pm.
Aidan Fox: I work all seven days and two hours a day.
Elena Amezquita: I work three days a week right now and it accounts for around 16 hours a week.
Jayla Williams: I only do summers and breaks and I usually work eight hours a day. Roughly 32 hours a week.
Olivia Gresavage: Monday, Saturday, Sunday
Charles McGuire: three to four days and 12 - 15 hours a week.
Nicole Filipowicz: five days, 20 hours a week.
Star Status: How did you find out about the job and what attracted you to it?
Cameron Colabella: My friend Kaitlyn worked there and It was near school and my gym and since my friend worked there, it was easier starting a new job when you know someone there.
Tyler Kane: I just love Dunkin’ so much, so why not just go and apply?
Aidan Fox: I’ve been into music for a very long time and I knew I wanted to be a musician from a young age.
Elena Amezquita: I found the job by emailing the manager, and I needed a job in a salon to further my goal in a career in cosmetology.
Jayla Williams: My mom got me in. I've known the people there for a while so it was an easy fit.
Olivia Gresavage: I always loved taking care of kids and I guess that was a good job for me and my age, since I couldn't get alot of jobs at 13 years old.
Charles McGuire: My sister worked there and my sister worked there.
Nicole Filipowicz: People I knew worked there, and I had previous experience as a cashier so I thought I would have a better chance of getting hired. And they paid pretty well and could be flexible with my schedule.
Star Status: What are some things you like about your job?
Cameron Colabella: It's pretty chill and I really like my coworkers a lot and have become good friends with them. It's also cool seeing so many different types of people and interacting with them.
Tyler Kane: The tips are really good, even though I thought I would never get as many tips for a fast-food company. Also, you are able to make anything you want for absolutely no cost, and scholarship opportunities!
Aidan Fox: I can make my own schedule and my own workload.
Elena Amezquita: I like how busy it is and there’s always something to do. I’m allowed to practice and train while learning from other stylists.
Jayla Williams: I like talking to my coworkers sometimes.
Olivia Gresavage: Kids, memories, money.
Charles McGuire: The freedom and casual atmosphere.
Nicole Filipowicz: The people are always super nice and friendly, and I’ve become close with a lot of my coworkers. We all laugh with each other and make working a good time. I also get to work in various different departments, so work is never boring.
Star Status: Do you have any funny stories from your job?
Tyler Kane: I had one customer who called to order over 40 dozen donuts at 6 pm and wanted them by 9 pm that same night, which is well over $400 of donuts!
Aidan Fox: I accidentally created a song that existed already.
Elena Amezquita: I wouldn’t say the stories I have are funny, for the most part I’ve had negative experiences with customers that I can laugh about now.
Jayla Williams: This guy called me "well-trained" just because I said good morning to him. Not funny, but interesting to say the least.
Olivia Gresavage: This one time, a kid and I were having a dance party and he had legos out and when we started dancing I tripped on a leg, and knocked over a cup with water and I got all wet. The kid I was babysitting at the time, started laughing at me but "helped" me up and cleaned his mess.
Charles McGuire: I flooded the store in custard trying to fix the custard machine.
Nicole Filipowicz: On my first day there 10 minutes before my shift ended the fire alarm went off because a pipe burst in the store and we had to evacuate the building. My keys were in my locker inside, so I was stuck there until the fire department showed up and cleared us to go back in.
