Iliana Nyktas is a very active senior. She is constantly filming, editing, or taking pictures for the Nottingham senior video, newspaper, and yearbook. A list of her favorite things begins with her favorite color: pink. Her favorite food? Sushi. She claims that her favorite movie is 2006’s She’s the Man and her favorite app is Snapchat. April wins as her favorite month.
Iliana also said that her favorite hobby is to play softball at Nottingham and play travel softball as well. Her favorite memory is hitting for the cycle (single, double, triple, home run) against Princeton High School. And our vice principal Mr. Walsh exclaimed, "As the former Northstar softball coach, I appreciated Iliana's play the first time I attended a game. She brings talent, passion, energy, and enthusiasm to the field. She is fun to watch!" Iliana wants to go to a four year college and study psychology. She'd like to become a teacher, but she also hopes that in ten years' time she will be working for the FBI and have one child. She has two brothers that are both 22 years old and her mom is a perfume saleswoman and her dad is a lawyer. She said her philosophy on life is to “try not to let things get to me as much while I’m young because I know I have a whole life ahead of me.” This motto and her mother are her motivations to achieve her dreams and goals. When asked how she thinks someone would describe her, she answered, “Someone would describe me as fun to be around. I usually always am in a good mood and I bring positive vibes. The teacher who described her best was Mr. Ken Klek who said that "Iliana is a tremendous asset to the Northstar family. She never fails to come through when you need someone to take photographs of an activity or event. Iliana is an extremely hard working student who highlights the talents of other students with her photography and video editing skills." |
