Nottingham’s DECA club recently competed at Kean University for the Central West DECA regionals competition on January 6, 2023. Students who place at regionals are offered the opportunity to compete at the state level at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City at the end of February. Out of all 3 high schools in Hamilton, Nottingham had the highest attendance for regionals with a total of 17 students.
At Kean University, students show off how well they can handle specific business fields and how they would thrive in the business world. Students who participated individually were given 10 minutes to devise a plan of action or solution to present to a judge who would evaluate their performance. Students who participated as teams were given 30 minutes to come up with a presentation to show a judge how they would market a product to be evaluated as well. Each event had a different scenario but each represented real business challenges and problems. Out of hundreds of students competing at regionals, Nottingham had four students place for states.
Congratulations to these northstars and good luck to them at states! |
