And the winner is... BERNIE! With 72 votes of the 213 votes submitted, Bernie is named the "Best Pet at Nottingham"! Mufasa and Toby tied for 2nd place with 57 votes each, and Ruby finished in 4th place with 27 votes. Congratulations to all contestants and we will see you again next year.

For the first time in Pet Photo Contest history, there was a TIE in both semi-final contests. All four dogs received 58 votes! This has never happened in the history of the Internet. The Star Status March Madness Pet Photo Contest Committee will have an emergency meeting today to determine the next course of action. Will the winner be chosen by random draw? Will the winner be determined by a race? A bark-off? A "who has the best trick" judging competition? Will the Pet Photo Contest be canceled? A decision will be made later today. Stay tuned!

Contest Final Four Announced
The long-awaited, most anticipated bracket challenge contest in the history of March is BACK! The 8th Annual Star Status March Madness Pet Photo Contest will determine who has the best Northstar pet. After four torturous rounds of voting, only four pets remain. We are down to the Final Four!
Dogs dominated the competition this year, eliminating the cats, the birds, the fish, the reptiles, and even the racoon. Here are your Final Four contestants: Bernie, Mufasa, Ruby, and Toby. Owners were asked to answer some important questions about their dog. Carefully read their responses before casting your vote.
May the best pet win! Voting in the Final Four will begin on Thursday, March 30th.

Why did you choose that name for your pet?
When adopted his name was Bernard, but we called him Bernie as a nickname.
What do you like best about your pet?
He is a huge attention dog and loves to show off
What is your pet's favorite game or activity?
Running crazy outside and chasing birds
Does your pet do any tricks?
Roll over and sit.
What's the worst thing your pet ever did?
He ate the couch in the living room while we were away.
What is your favorite memory with your pet?
When he was walking around with four bones in his mouth.

My family and I are huge Disney fans. Over the years, we have had dogs named Nala, Simba, Dorie, and Kala. We chose Mufasa for his name because he is a big dog; he's 125 pounds! He's the king :)
What do you like best about your pet?
His personality and his affection. He is very loving and he thinks he is a lap dog.
What is your pet's favorite game or activity?

He can play catch. But, most impressively, he knows how to open doors - to let himself in from the backyard.

My family and I had a rough few years, and Mufasa has brought so much love and laughter into our home. My favorite memories with him are just laying around with him (we watch The Lion King and Eight Below).

Ruby is red, and she is named after one of the Rolling Stones many great songs, "Ruby Tuesday." Other great songs from the Rolling Stones include "Jumping Jack Flash", "Tumbling Dice", "You Can't Always Get What You Want", and "Doom and Gloom".
What do you like best about your pet?
She is a very happy girl! She always cheers everyone around her up.
What is your pet's favorite game or activity?
She likes to play fetch with her tennis balls - sometimes she chases the ball, sometimes she throws the ball down the steops for you to fetch. She also LOVES to play in the snow!

She has eaten MULTIPLE sticks of butter off the counter, as well as a few sandwiches that someone put too close to the edge of the table.
