Twitter Interview | Mr. Frank Ragzzo | Principal
Nottingham High School's Journalism class recently conducted a Twitter interview with Nottingam's Principal, Mr. Frank Ragazzo. Here is the transcript of the interview.
Star Status: What is your favorite childhood memory?
Mr. Frank Ragazzo: Wow...so many to choose from! One that stands out is going to Yankee stadium for the first time. I remember thinking the field looked so green and so huge...it was an amazing site for me. As a student in high school, what were your goals? My goal was to do well enough in school that I'd get accepted to a 4 year college. I didn't know where I wanted to go, but I knew I wanted to live away from home. What was your first job in education? I'd say my first job in education was working as a summer camp counselor. It was then that I knew I wanted to teach. My first teaching job came when I was hired to be a English/TELECOMMUNICATIONS teacher...at that other school on Klockner Road! Do you have kids? What are their name and ages? Yes, I have 3 kids. Gianna is my daughter and she will be 12 next week (I really can't even believe that she's that old already!) I have twin boys - Frankie and Joey - who are both 9. Name your favorite Disney movie. Aladdin. Robin Williams as the Genie was the best! Mr. Frank Ragazzo was appointed principal of Nottingham High School in the middle of the 2015 - 2016 school year. The Journalism class conducted a Twitter interview with Mr. Ragazzo. What is your favorite restaurant? Casual - JoJos right here in Hamilton! Fancy - The River Cafe, Brooklyn, NY (I got engaged there!) |
Can you think of a program/club/class/sport that you wish Nottingham had?
I would love it if we had a PING PONG club! Name one strength and one weakness of Nottingham. I think a huge strength is our diversity and our sense of inclusivity! We are a family here and I think the majority of both students and staff feel that way! A weakness is that too many students come late to school! We need to do better in that area and I think we will! What are your goals for Nottingham for the 2018-19 school year? I want this year to be great all around for Nottingham! Academically great! Athletically great! I want our level of SCHOOL SPIRIT to continue to rise! Most importantly, I want to continue to give our students the tools necessary to go out into the world and SUCCEED! Favorite memory as principal of Nottingham? This one is tough to answer because I have had so many great memories here. The feeling I had being part of my first graduation ceremony as the Principal of Nottingham was something I will never forget. Handing out diplomas for the 1st time to all the graduates was awesome! What makes a good leader? A good leader is someone who leads by example and is not afraid to make tough decisions when necessary...EVEN IF...those decisions aren't always the most popular! |
