The results for the annual Northstar Staff Superlative Contest are in! The nominees for each category were voted on by members of the Northstar staff to determine who was the best of the best in each category. Northstar staff members nominated and eventually voted on the superlative awards.
We had Mr. Dave Tees win an exciting victory over competitors for “Best Hair”. I wish he would tell us his secrets on how he grows it so long and silky. Ms. Lauren Flaherty got the most votes for “Best Shoe Game” for her always awesome sneaks. Ms. Tiffany Wilkes earned the title of “Best Vibes”, and said about her victory, “What an honor! This is the best thing I have ever won in my life! I'm so excited!" Ms. Kristin Dunham beat out the competition for “Best Car”, thanks to her bright green jeep. Room 105 received recognition for being the “Best Decorated”. Mr. and Mrs. Paglione started off their married life together right by being named “Cutest Couple”. Mrs. Pags expressed her excitement over the win, saying, “This is the ultimate award! I won a lot of trophies in playing and coaching sports, but this takes the cake. I even made hubby wear his fancy shirt. Whatever it takes to win!” Mr. Duane Walker won the title of “Best Fashion” sense for his sharp suits that he’s known for wearing. Mr. Jason Marasco beat out competitors for the “Loudest” category thanks to his vocal directions. Ms. Kristin Stinson was named “Most Beloved” in response to her motherly, warm nature. The cardigans she wears helps bring the image together. Stinson said, “What an honor! I always knew that the considerable amount of money and time spent on Klek's Master Class seminar: ‘How to Win the Hearts and Minds of Your Colleagues’ would eventually pay off.” Ms. Dana Schwartz beat out other energizer bunnies to become the “Most Energetic” teacher. Her students wish she would slow down sometimes, but she just can’t contain her passion for people who lived centuries ago! It was completely surprising that Mr. Tees also won “Most Sarcastic”. He definitely does not joke around with everyone and then leave them holding their breath while they try to figure out if he’s serious. Ms. Megan McDermott beat out other young teachers to win “Most Likely to be Confused With a Student”. Her hip slang (she says “lit” a lot) and trendy fashion sense make it hard to differentiate between her and the rest of the student body. Mr. Chris Cymbal won “Most Chill” because he’s about to have another another baby! He doesn’t have the energy to be strict with his students when he’s got his own kids to tire him out. He has to be chill about what he does to maintain his sanity. Ms. Jen Hutchinson was voted “Most School Spirit” for her consistent participation in our spirit weeks and always repping her Northstar gear! Mr. Gary Meinhardt received the lovely title of “Strictest Teacher” because he doesn’t let anything slide with his students, because he’s not here to make friends. The ultra-competitive Ms. Christie Paglione won another title for “Most Athletic”, because she makes sure to let everyone know she played a sport in college and still has calves of steel. We don’t know what goes on in staff meetings to evoke this category, but Ms. Michelle Dooley and Ms. Cindy Peer tied for “Most Likely to Ask Questions at a Staff Meeting”. Someone named “Ralph” won for “Cutest Baby Photo” and said “"I remain undefeated in 'Best Baby Photo Contests'. I apologize to all of the other entrants. They never had a chance." We still don’t know who Ralph is. To round us out, Mr. Marasco won a second title, this time, unsurprisingly, for “Most Patriotic”. He said about his win, “I have eight American flags on my house. The second-place finisher only has six. Not very patriotic!” “Sam the Eagle” got one vote in this category. That concludes the annual Northstar Staff Superlative Contest Wrap Up! Make sure to check back next year to see if these prestigious winners still retain their titles. |
