The annual Black History month assembly was organized by Guidance Counselor Ms. Iliana Okeroke. The assembly showcased some of talents of Northstars and served to celebrate the achievements of African Americans in history. The Gospel Choir sang a few selections culturally related to the program. Selected students then shared original poems and poems written by notable African American poets. Another group of selected students shared their own poems expressing their pride and struggles of being African American. Last, the step team showed the rhythmic roots of step and the origin of the dance.
