Dr. Northstar's Advice Column
Dear Dr. Northstar, I have so much work to do in class, but I also have sports and clubs to do. I tend to procrastinate to the point where I don’t get anything done. I still want to join more clubs next year, but I’m already so overworked. What should I do?
Overworked |
Learning time management is a crucial part of the educational process, while doing the clubs and sports you love. If you have problems with procrastination, make a schedule of all you have to do that day, which is also easy to commit to, then you won’t have a problem following through with it. I guarantee that will help you in the long-run. If that doesn’t work, you may be in too many activities. List your priorities and drop the ones that matter least to you. Good luck!

Dear Dr. Northstar, There’s this boy I like and he seems like he likes me too. The problem is he’ll only talk to me when we’re alone. When his friends are around he won’t give me a second look. I’m starting to think so much about him that my grades are dropping. How should I handle this?
Shy Girl |
First, your grades are very important, so you have to find a way to get him off your mind. I suggest you talk to this boy and tell him how you feel. If he starts treating you better, then that’s great, but if he doesn’t change then maybe it wasn’t meant to be. In general, boys tend to mature later than girls.

Dear Dr. Northstar, Why are the guys here so disrespectful?
Confused |
A lot of times, when people are mean to you, it means they like you. Try to think of that the next time you get disrespected by a guy.
